I created this app concept in Figma in 1 day. I wanted to challenge myself to transform a concept into visual designs as if I were pitching it to a client.
For this app :) I happen to be the target audience. I am in love with my garden, I wanted a journal app to capture images and thoughts as well as keep track of tasks.
I also wanted to share my garden and learn from other gardeners. Therefore "Gardenia", a name inspired from the most fragrant flower.
Knowing the user-needs, focusing on iOS, I defined a quick information architecture on paper. I then dived into visual design.
I separated the requirements into three tabs. The first two tabs are available to all users, but in order to post and see posts in the community tab, a user will be required
to have an account. I chose to forgo account creation upon downloading the app which is the standard for many applications with landing pages. This approach is more optimal in
allowing users to enjoy the app and not be deterred by the hassle of creating accounts before exploring app content. Please note that all images in this app and portfolio are taken
by me. Below are the main screens as well as the interactive prototype.
